Description: A gray throat and breast contrasts with the yellow belly and undertail. The wings and tail have extensive rufous. Distinctive among Arkansas' flycatchers.
Voice: Slowly repeated outbursts like wee, wee-up, or we-urrr interspersed with trills prrreeeet.

Habitat: Open woodlands, wooded swamps, wooded pastures, orchards, parks, and urban areas with many large trees.
Interesting Fact: The only cavity-nesting flycatcher in Arkansas. This species prefers natural tree cavities but will use cavities excavated by woodpeckers or nest boxes.
