Voice: |
A series of staccato notes that begin and end with a chick, sounding like chick wee perchio chick. A mnemonic is look, I'm a vireo quick, or quick, pick up the check quick. Sometimes ends with a mew note not unlike a Gray Catbird's mew call. Click here to listen

Habitat: |
Areas with dense shrubs and some trees including overgrown pastures, abandoned farms, thickets, and densely vegetated parks and residential areas. |
Interesting Fact: |
White-eyed Vireos can incorporate imitations of other species' call notes in their songs, including the Downy Woodpecker, Great Crested Flycatcher, Wood Thrush, and Eastern Towhee. |
