Season: Winter
Description: Brownish gray above with streaks on the breast. It has a noticeable yellow rump patch seen in flight and yellow patches in front of its wings. During the nonbreeding season, female resembles male but is duller. Before migrating north out of Arkansas to their breeding grounds, males become blue-gray above with black around the eyes and black streaks on the breast.
Voice: Voice is a loose trill, either lower or higher in pitch at the end. The call is a low chep and is more likely to be heard during winter in Arkansas.

Habitat: Woodlands and brush thickets.
Interesting Fact: The Yellow-rumped Warbler is one of only a few warbler species that winters regularly in Arkansas. In the winter it switches its diet from insects to fruit.
