Description: Males have a brown head and a black breast, belly, tail and wings. Females are brown with streaking on the breast.
Voice: Often described as the sound of water dripping - glug glug gleeee. From the low glugs to the high glees this species has the greatest change in pitch in its song of any North American bird.

Habitat: Particularly common in agricultural areas and often associated with cattle.
Interesting Fact: Brown-headed Cowbirds are brood parasites. Females find nests of other birds and lay their eggs in those nests. The host mother raises the young of the cowbird, which often develops faster than her own young and starves out the other hatchlings in the nest.
